Cholesterol

If cholesterol levels are too high it puts you at risk of angina, heart attacks, strokes and death.

The evidence is clear. The lower the cholesterol, the better.

If you do nothing, then it will gradually clog up your arteries.

You can make changes to your life to lower it, find out more here.

Medicines help reduce the rate at which arteries fill up with cholesterol.

If you are happy to discuss starting a cholesterol lowering medicine, please contact reception and ask for an appointment with our expert pharmacy team.

If you are not interested, please continue, you do not need to contact the practice.

Why would you wait?
Normal: Clean artery
Fatty streak: No symptoms
Fibrous plaque: Temporary symptoms (e.g. unstable angina)
