Practice News and Notices

Patient Survey Results and Action Plan

We have recently completed a patient survey (December 2011) which has again shown positive results. These were discussed at our Patient Reference Group meeting on Wednesday 25th January 2012 and a set of actions have been agreed to move the areas identified forward.

The practice website has been updated with a new page entitled 'Patient Reference Group' which gives details of the survey results, the actions agreed with the PRG and the steps we are taking to meet the priorities identified. Please visit the Patient Reference Group Page and follow the links to the Action Plan and Survey Results.

We are very grateful to the members of the PRG for their support and would encourage anyone who is a registered patient of the practice to join. The PRG is under-represented in the areas of under 35s and those with an ethnic minority background so patients in these categories are especially welcome.

Please ask Chris Blunt or Ali Swinnerton (a senior member of staff who has responsibility for health promotion, publicity and the PRG) for further details.

Choose and Book

We have recently improved our ‘Choose and Book’ service which allows patients much more flexibility in gaining referrals to hospital and clinic appointments. Once the Doctor has decided to refer a patient the new system will give a choice of at least four hospitals and a selection of different times and dates for the appointment. One of our senior staff, Karen Hewitt, is administering this process.

Previously, the hospital or clinic chose the date & time of an appointment, whereas now the choice will be yours. For more information on this new service please go to: www.chooseandbook.nhs.uk

Please ask the GP who is referring you to do so via Choose and Book

Internet Booking of Appointments

Please remember, patients are able to book Doctors' appointments over the Internet. To find out more information please click here.
